DES has set up an Admission Committee that establishes the admission procedure, screens applications and ensures selection of suitable candidates. The committee decides on the nature of tests to be conducted for determining the suitability of the candidate for the course. The Admissions Committee has the right to reject applications without assigning any reasons whatsoever. The objective of admission tests and personal interview is to assess the candidate's aptitude and suitability for the profession. Since the medium of instruction is English, the admission tests seek to ascertain the student's proficiency in English language.

Aptitude Test

The Media Aptitude Test or MAT is the test you will have to attempt if you desire to become a DESIFT student. (MAT) is a test that is designed by expert psychologists to decide how well suited you are to MEDIA as a career. This aptitude test is not an entrance exam and you do not have to prepare or study for it. It is a simple exploratory exercise that tries to understand your strengths, power of expression, technical inclination, general knowledge and media perception through a set of questions. There is nothing mandatory/optional in this test. You simply have to attempt any questions of your choice for 100 marks.

The MAT can also be undertaken online on request.
